I have been confused with the recent trend where pediatricians refuse to keep mother with the baby especially after C section and insist on artificial feeding. This had been my personal experience when I had got into argument with my pediatrician who insisted that I should give my newborn lactogen even though my wife was able to breastfeed. Not one but many cases have come to my notice.
Is there any recent evidence against breastfeeding Post C section? I was not able to find any evidence on the internet against breastfeeding. Also, what is the logic of separating an apparently healthy baby from the mother and keeping him in ICU for 24 hours?
