I am always impressed by how well-informed and intelligent my patients are. A lot of them are MBAs, CAs, and software engineers. They have done a lot of homework online, and have an analytical and thoughtful mindset, which is why I'm happy to listen to their input. It's true that I am the medical expert, but even though I may know a lot about IVF, there are lots of other things I don't know about, and therefore I try to form a partnership with them, where we can complement each other.
I cannot understand why other doctors' don't give their patients credit for being intelligent. They often say things like, "Don't worry about the technical details" or, "You won't understand the medical reports, just trust me".
