The PCPNDT act is meant to bar doctors doing sex determination of foetus. But an echocardiographist also needs the same machine and looks for cardiac functions which has nothing to do with the sex determination of foetus. Why then a cardiologist need to comply with the statutory requirement of PCPNDT act?

Is it not enough to give a statement that he would do echo only to procure a machine?
