A woman came with pain abdomen and surgeon after examination performed arterio-venous fistula a set protocol for dialysis but patient and her attendants told that patient never had a kidney problem. Realising mistake surgeon tempered documentation. Patient's record showed no evidence of wrong surgery done but nursing record book had mentioned of wrong surgery. A complaint was filed with administration and report of inquiry committee held surgeon guilty for doing wrong surgery.
As punishment " withdrawal from all clinical work " of a surgeon was made. Is it justified? What is your opinion on this case?
