The International Women’s Health Day is observed on the 28th of May every year. It stresses on two concepts – Women’s health matters and Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR). SRHR aim to empower women against heightened risks of gender-based violence, unawareness of reproductive health and menarche, and barriers to accessing essential sexual and reproductive health services, such as safe contraception and abortion ( Figure 1 ).
