Every year 17 th of November is observed as World Prematurity Day. Premature birth can have a lifelong impact on the physical and mental growth and the social behavior of the baby. The situation can also be daunting for the family of the child. To address these challenges, this year’s observance is focused on supporting the families of prematurely born children and strengthening the healthcare system. The theme for World Prematurity Day 2020 is ‘Together for babies born too soon – Caring for the future.’  According to the World Health Organization, around 15 million babies are born prematurely worldwide.
