Researchers from the National Institute of Biomedical Genomics (NIBMG), West Bengal, have developed the world's first genetic database for oral cancer. It is a free online repository of curated digital genomic variants of oral cancer. Highlights: The database dbGENVOC is a free, browsable online database containing genomic variants of oral cancer. Genomic variants were annotated based on multiple analytic pipelines after identifying them based on the community-approved best practice protocol.

dbGENVOC's initial release contains 24 million somatic and germline variations obtained from whole-exome sequences of 100 Indians with oral cancer and five whole-genome sequences of Indians with oral cancer.
