A 24-year-old suicide victim purchased various drugs using a forged prescription. He left a detailed suicide note which described his research on various drugs that could cause death or reduce pain. In his suicide note, he also requested for euthanasia in case he survived in a brain-damaged or vegetative state. A number of drugs and empty pill containers were found in his room. The drugs were divided into groups like ‘anti-vomiting pills’, ‘suicide pills’, ‘take before 1 hour before suicide pills’ and ‘you will die if you take all these medicine’.
He had used 25 g of pentobarbital and 2 g of phenytoin to commit suicide. Autopsy revealed congestion of internal organs but no external injury. Source: Bodwal J et al. Medico-Legal Journal 0(0) 1–3.
