The flavour & taste of what the Pregnant mother eats is believed to be sampled by the fetus in utero while it swallows amniotic fluid. This is an important factor in developing eating habits after birth. Also the food habits of the family including the child in its early life is responsible for the child's food habits when he/she becomes an adult. This is called "Flavour learning".
If the pregnant mother eats junk food frequently or after the child birth, if the family frequently partakes unhealthy food, it would strongly motivate the child grown in such an environment to choose such unhealthy food as he/she becomes an adult. Undue stress during pregnancy would also have harmful permanent effects on food habits of the future child.
