Case presentation An 18-year-old male was brought to the psychiatry outpatient department with complaints of reduced sleep, short temperedness, and repeated threats of fleeing from the house and/or harming himself. In addition, the patient reported an incessant dissatisfaction with his male body. Personal history The patient was the youngest of three siblings. He had an elder brother and sister. He had normal motor, social, and language development but had ‘girlish’ behavior since early childhood.
He spent most of his childhood with his mother and elder sister. He usually played with dolls indoors and with his sister and other female friends while playing outdoors.
