A 24-year-old, primigravida admitted to the labor room (never done antenatal USG) has no history of consanguinity or family history of any malformations. There was no history of any drug intake except for iron and folic acid supplementation. The still born fetus was 36 weeks and weighed 1900 gms. Gross examination Normal placenta, short umbilical cord (two umbilical arteries and one umbilical vein) with normal face and head. No left upper limb. Gastrointestinal organs like liver, spleen and the intestine eviscerated. Since these organs were not enclosed by a membrane the case can be termed as gastroschisis.
