Introduction: Certain cases where identification of point A is difficult because of variations in the structure of the skeleton, soft-tissue overshadows or due to the abnormal anatomy in the cleft lip and palate patients or in growing children because of the tooth germs molding the anterior contour of maxilla, to overcome such cases various alternative methods have been given by different authors.
