A surgical team has completed laparoscopic cholecystectomy with a novel surgical system that can remove a diseased gallbladder through the smallest incision hidden in the umbilicus. This article briefs the procedure platform and the benefit of the technique. Although open surgery is performed in few complicated cases, laparoscopic cholecystectomy is the current practice for the surgical removal of the diseased gallbladder.
