COVID-19 is generally associated with respiratory tract manifestations. However, the emerging data show its negative effect on the entire body. The present article describes the neurological manifestations of COVID-19. A physician received a 33-year-old female patient who was suffering from headaches, cough, and chills since one week.
In the next 28 hours, she developed dysarthria with both numbness and weakness in the left leg and left arm. She didnโt use emergency care due to fear of COVID-19. After hospital admission, her score on the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) was 19 (range from 0-42), thereby revealing underlying stroke problems. 1 The physician requested for Computed Tomography Angiography (CTA) that showed the right middle cerebral artery with partial infarction and the right carotid artery with partially occlusive thrombus at the cervical bifurcation.โฆ
