It is well-established that the immune system helps protect the body from various pathogens by producing antibodies against them. Therefore, it is essential to know how COVID-19 vaccination affects the immune response in individuals with prior exposure to SARS-CoV-2 compared to those without the exposure. According to a study published in the journal Science , a single dose of the COVID-19 vaccine provides a good immune response in individuals previously infected with SARS-CoV-2.

However, those who have not been previously infected and have taken only a single dose of the vaccine showed a poor antibody response to SARS-CoV-2 and its variants.
