Insomnia is often prevalent in women and older people, however, nowadays it has been prevalent in children and adolescents as well. According to the reports of The National Sleep Foundation polls 2018, 75% of the adolescents sleep less than the expected 8 hours of sleep.

It is estimated that insomnia in children from the age group of 5 to 10 years is approximately 20% and as high as 23.8 % in adolescents.
