A patient has T2DM, he was a chronic alcoholic, there is no genetic predisposen for diabetes in the family. He has diabetes at the age of 42 yrs. Another diabetic patient is there whose parents were diabetic. He had T2DM at the age of 36yrs.

He is non-alcoholic. I observed complication of Diabetes-like cataract, nephropathy, neuropathy, arthritis, within 5 years of diagnosis of diabetes in a person who is having a genetic history of T2DM and even after 14 years. The alcoholic diabetic patient is free of complications. Is there any specific pathology in these two cases.
