While working in a government/semi government setup, it is quite common for surgeon (any speciality) to assist a senior surgeon of the dept (seniority more in terms of duration of job rather than expertise). If one is unfortunate to have a senior having a bad surgical hand and senior not letting junior do surgery or even listen to his suggestions, how can junior doctor safeguard his interest in case of probable litigation. Court of law will see co or assisting surgeon as equally liable and all counter argument of high-handedness of senior surgeon. Junior's suggestions' denial won't stand in the court.
Management is hopeless. Senior is too adamant to listen or even give a thought. Can someone suggest a remedy to this. Leaving such job would be a good option I think.
