Case presentation An 80-year-old woman presented with acute abdominal pain, rectal bleeding , malaise , and floaters. History The patient had been receiving the following drugs as a treatment for hypertension and dyslipidemia for several years. Olmesartan – 20 mg/day Spironolactone – 25 mg/day Altizide – 15 mg/day Pravastatin – 20 mg/day She had suffered from deep vein thrombosis a few years before the presentation. She had undergone bilateral cataract surgery four years before the presentation. A few days prior, the patient had received three monthly intravitreal injections of 2 mg aflibercept (volume 50 µl) in each eye.
