A 36-year-old otherwise healthy male with a history of excessive smoking (10-12 cigarettes/ per day) and frequent alcohol consumption suddenly woke up at night with head and neck pain. He had no vomiting or feeling of nausea. No experience of a paralytic event. His speech become slurry and suddenly he lost his ability to speak. He was brought to Emergency department where his vital signs were found to be stable and instant blood glucose was normal. He was given pantoprazole injection and released.
His speech was restored next morning and till then he is normal except a heavy head feeling. He remembered the whole event and himself dressed up and walked to the hospital. Recently, he was in Himachal Pradesh for a training programme on skiing where he experienced multiple fall but without any head injury or trauma. He was ordered an MRI of the brain.
