A 33-year-old man was picked up from the street and transferred to the ED in an ambulance after he called Emergency Medical Services (EMS) from a payphone. When the emergency team rushed to the spot, they found the man in an agitated state with an altered mental status . He was paranoid and complained that people were in desperation to shoot him.

On his way to the hospital, the man became more confused and aggressive , and he was administered 8 mg of midazolam intramuscularly. A total of eight people was required to control the patient and get him into the ED on a gurney.
