A 75-year-old male patient presented to the emergency department (during winter) with a fever and complications in ambulation that started a day before. Physical and medical history The patient had a history of poorly controlled Type 2 diabetes mellitus (HbA1c: 8.1%). Advanced chronic kidney disease (estimated glomerular filtration rate, 29 mL/min/1.73 m2). And, for treatment of his condition, he was on constant insulin and allopurinol intervention.
