Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is a chronic, relapsing disease that can progress to major complications if not managed properly. Often patients with GERD have poorer health-related quality of life than the general population. Omeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor, has been demonstrated to be very effective and safe for the long-term treatment of GERD patients without any drug-related adverse effects.

This survey intends to assess the clinical utility of antiulcerants as well as the comparative efficacy and safety of omeprazole with other antiulcerants.
