Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) accounts for approximately 90% of all renal malignancies. Sunitinib is the gold standard for the treatment of advanced RCC, but several patients have an inherent resistance to antiangiogenic drugs . To facilitate therapeutic decisions in these patients, researchers have conducted a clinical trial to compare a combination of avelumab plus axitinib versus sunitinib in patients with advanced RCC .
The study results are described in Table 1 and progression-free survival rate is represented in Figure 1.
