It was about 2 and half yrs back.A lady about 38-39 yrs old consulted me in a peripheral centre to get her nose removed as she is having severe epistaxis for last about 1 and half yrs and didnt want to be transfued more. She gave the history that for last 20 yrs she was having severe menorrhagia and was transfused several times.Nothing was found by topmost gynaecologist so after completing her family hysterectomy was done.Since then she is having severe epistaxis of almost 50 to 100 ml blood each time and ENT doctors had r/o any local ENT problem.So she pleaded to save her life by removing her nose. All examinations were normal including BP,no petechiae or easy bruising,no hsm.
I persuaded her and anyhow convinced to get done few investigations which was normal including PT and APTT. Then i proceeded to a coslty blood test which proved the diagnosis.Now she is fine on a simple…
