A 76-year-old man complained of sudden onset of weakness in the right hand and arm, developing weakness in few minutes, to an extent that he could not hold a spoon and started feeling heavy in his right leg, yet he did not experience any difficulty in walking. These symptoms resolved completely over a couple of hours (in 90 minutes). He had been well, and there was no history of recent falls. He had stopped smoking 30 years ago and consumed 20 units of alcohol /week He had no history of hypertension, diabetes or no family history of ischemic heart disease or stroke.
Examination No headache, nausea, vomiting or photophobia was experienced At the time of the examination, there were no abnormal movements in his weak hand or arm.
