Ophthalmologists perform routine eye examinations to detect, diagnose and manage eye diseases. Spectacles are routinely prescribed by the ophthalmologist and dispensed by the opticians. Although, not being a doctor, the optician's functions include prescription analysis and interpretation; determination of the lens forms best suited to the wearer's needs. There are chances that optician can encounter errors while spectacle dispensing. Most of the opticians do not have personnel certified in spectacle dispensing.
