Highlights Inadequate sleep among adolescents has been increasing over the years with adverse health consequences. Non-pharmacological and pharmacological treatments are available for treating insomnia, with cognitive behavioral therapy recommended as the first line of treatment. Adolescence is a critical period to consider drug overdose risk post-prescription of benzodiazepine treatment.
