Atopic dermatitis is an inflammatory skin disease with early onset and with a lifetime prevalence of approximately 20%. The aetiology of atopic dermatitis is unknown, however, the transition from atopic dermatitis to asthma may be prevented with the discovery of filaggrin. Every physician should atleast have the fundamental knowledge of the treatment of atopic dermatitis since it is not easily manageable. Here, we discuss natural history, diagnosis, and management of atopic dermatitis.
