In a shocking incident, doctors have removed a massive lump of hair, as big as the size of a melon, from the stomach of a 16-year-old girl in Dehradun. According to a report, the patient had an addiction of eating her hair and had been doing it for the past several years. Her addiction left her unable to eat and even caused her to throw out frequently. It was after her weight fell drastically, her parents realized that something was not right with their daughter.

As per the report, the mass of hair had apparently occupied 80 percent of space in her stomach, that apparently caused her to lose interest in eating. The 16-year-old has been diagnosed with Rapunzel syndrome, a rare condition in which a hairball (called a trichobezoar) is found in the stomach, with its tail in the colon.
