A new-generation bone-sparing hip procedure has been performed in Chennai on two international patients, with the private hospital describing the cases as Asia's first use of the approach. The procedures involved a 44-year-old man from the US and a 58-year-old man from London who traveled to India for specialized orthopedic care. The technique takes a deliberately conservative approach to bone removal during hip reconstruction.

Rather than sacrificing substantial amounts of native bone, the procedure is designed to retain more of the patient's existing bone while providing stable reconstruction and functional restoration.
