I read this article about Maharashtra State Public Health Department (PHD), allowing College of Physicians and Surgeons to conduct two year diploma courses in different specialities like ophthalmology, cardiology, gynaecology and obstetrics, anaesthesia, child health, and pathology and bacteriology. Although the intention of these courses is to generate enough manpower to work in these specialities to address the shortage of qualified doctors, I am not sure if these courses would be recognized by MCI.

Will these courses be helpful in getting better jobs for General Practitioners?
