Flight attendants are the most neglected occupational cohort which is under constant exposure to numerous well - known carcinogens in the cabin milieu. Carcinogen sources include ionizing radiation present in flight altitude, circadian rhythm disturbance due to shift-based work, uneven schedules and jetlag due to crossing time zones and improper cabin maintenance. A study characterized the prevalence of cancer diagnoses among U.S. flight attendants in comparison with the contemporary population.

The relationship between job tenure and incidence of cancer was analyzed by logistic regression and adjusting for potential confounders.
