A cardiologist has telesurgeries using India’s first indigenous surgical robotic system from Gurugram on patients hospitalized 285 kilometers away in Jaipur. The surgical robotic system recently received approval from the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation for telesurgery and teleproctoring. The doctor performed two telesurgeries over two consecutive days. On the first day, he performed an internal mammary artery harvesting procedure in 58 minutes, with a latency of 35-40 milliseconds.

On the second day, the doctor performed a robotic beating heart totally endoscopic coronary artery bypass (TECAB).
