Case presentation A 26-year-old female, five weeks post-partum, presents with right breast pain and fever. She is still breastfeeding. History She saw her general practitioner twice over the past three weeks for mastitis and was prescribed antibiotics. Her pain has increased now.

She is allergic to penicillin and doesn’t take any other medications. Examination Temperature - 37.9°C  Pulse rate – 92/min A localized tender area adjacent to the areola of the right breast was observed. There is surrounding erythema and tender lymphadenopathy in the right axilla.
