Cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) uses a cone-shaped X-ray beam to reconstruct a three-dimensional (3D) image of teeth, maxillofacial region, ears, nose, and throat. CBCT is used to visualize teeth, evaluate jaws, cleft palate, and face, diagnose dental caries and trauma, and plan implants. Artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques utilize the images and data captured by the CBCT to improve image quality, diagnose maxillofacial diseases, and localize anatomical landmarks for orthognathic and orthodontic treatment planning. To learn more about the application of artificial intelligence in dental and oral health care, join the proficient oral and maxillofacial radiologist, Dr.
