29 medical device units violated norms of selling and manufacturing orthopedic implants. As a result, the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) decided to issue show cause notice under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act and Rules 2018. The CDSCO on 11th March 2019 conducted a surprise attack on 45 places in Maharashtra, Gujrat, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi.
Out of 45 raids, 25 were conducted in Delhi, 6 were in Maharashtra and 6 in each Uttar Pradesh, and Gujrat.
