Almost 70% of women experience breathlessness at least once or multiple times during pregnancy. Most of the times, shortness of breath is not serious but occurs due to physiological changes associated with pregnancy. But recurrent breathlessness along with fatigue, flu, chest pain etc. needs further investigation. In this context, this article discusses the causative factors and investigations which can be safely performed during pregnancy to rule out complications.
70% of pregnant women experience some degree of breathlessness, especially in the third trimester and sometimes in the early pregnancy.
