Traditionally, subcutaneous immunotherapy (SCIT) is used in controlling the allergic rhinitis (AR). However, in recent years, interest in sublingual immunotherapy (SLIT) has grown considerably. In this regard, this article gives a brief overview of the safety of SCIT and SLIT for AR and will highlight the similarities and differences and related to these two immunotherapy techniques. Treatment for AR AR is defined as inflammation of the nasal mucosa manifested clinically with symptoms of nasal congestion, rhinorrhea, nasal itching, and sneezing.
