A landmark step by Surat police: The Indian Medical Association (IMA), Surat has decided that doctors will stay away from work in the city on Monday to protest against an attack by a mob on medical practitioners at Unique Hospital here on October 9. However, doctors will be available to attend to all kinds of emergency cases brought to the hospitals. Unique Hospital was attacked for the second time by a mob in the past few days.
Dr Prashant B Desai in a written statement said the decision was taken after a meeting of members of different faculties on October 10.
