Consuming energy drinks (EDs)  has become a trend more than a need across all age groups nowadays. However, in recent years, there has been a significant increase in cases of illness due to overconsumption or habitual drinking of such products in middle-aged groups (40-60 years old). The key ingredients in EDs are caffeine, L-carnitine, taurine, B vitamins, glucuronolactone, antioxidants, trace minerals, guarana, sucrose, Ginkgo biloba, and/or ginseng. These so-called stimulants are intended to improve energy and performance but adversely affect the neuromuscular and circulatory systems.
