A few studies in the literature describe congenital cutaneous candidiasis (CCC), a rare fungal infection due to an ascending intrauterine infection from a Candida species. It can arise in preterm or term infants and has many clinical symptoms. Read the following case report about a preterm neonate with CCC. Case presentation A 36-week gestational age preterm female neonate at birth showed multiple erythematous desquamative plaques with papules and vesicles on the back, abdomen, neck, lower and upper extremities, groin area, axillary region, and retro auricular region.
