The District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, North-East Delhi, recently heard a case rooted in grief, expectation, and a dispute over medical payments. The matter arose from events that began in 2022, when a man suffering from cancer approached one of the hospitals in Vaishali, Ghaziabad, in search of treatment and relief. After examining the patient, the treating doctor advised a course of chemotherapy followed by radiation therapy. Trusting the medical advice, the patient and his family agreed to the proposed plan and deposited money with the hospital.
Chemotherapy was initiated, and preparations were also made for radiation therapy.
