The journal CHEST recently released a significant update to the Task Force for Mass Critical Care’s (TFMCC2014) consensus statement on providing mass critical care, based on research acquired from the COVID-19 pandemic. Crisis-level care is when contingency-level care becomes unsustainable, and care becomes prioritized or limited. As a result, there is a significant risk of negative outcomes and probable resource triage. Here are ten recommendations from the updated consensus statement highlighting the significance of maintaining contingency-level care.
