Cerebrovascular stroke is the third leading cause of disability-adjusted life years worldwide. Majority of patients affected by stroke survive the initial event but continue to live with significant disability for years. Therefore, with the advancements in acute stroke interventions, researchers are focusing on recovery and rehabilitation treatment, to enhance the quality of post-stroke life.
