Over the past few decades, colorectal surgery has seen much surgical technique transformation . Of these successful techniques have been largely discussed and utilized by many researchers and surgeons throughout the world. However, many of these techniques have not been evaluated for randomized clinical trials to determine their short- and long- term effects.
This article reviews such popular techniques used for colorectal surgeries yet they lack solid scientific evidence in the form of clinical trials.
