Omega 3 Supplements including flax seeds, walnuts, fish, olive oil etc.are popular as cardioprotective agents. With this concept, their sale and use have been increased several times. All this was based on results of an observational study that taking fish once or twice a week protect against cardiovascular heart disease. Recently published results of metaanalysis involving about 78,000 individuals with CHD or risk factors for CHD showed no association of omega 3 Supplements with beneficial effects.
