Drug Control General of India (DCGI) has issued notice against those e-retailers who are selling spurious, adulterated and unapproved cosmetics. It has given warning to companies of penal action in case of failing to respond within 10 days. Following the notice from DCGI on 5-6 October across the country, raids have been conducted by many regional drug inspectors. During their inspection, they found few cosmetic manufactured sell cosmetics without a license and e-commerce registration certificate.
Those cosmetics are being sold on the various website included imparted brand names without valid documents and it also contains ingredients of the negative list of Bureau of India Standard (BIS). According to the Drug and Cosmetic Act 1940, to get registration certificate is mandatory for the import of cosmetics in India and all manufactured need to have a valid license. Source- Business…
