Cutaneous sarcoidosis can serve as an early indicator of systemic involvement, including potentially life-threatening cardiac sarcoidosis (CaS) . In a recent cross-sectional study , baseline electrocardiogram (ECG) screening of patients with cutaneous sarcoidosis demonstrated 100% sensitivity and negative predictive value for detecting CaS within the first year of dermatologic presentation. While only a minority of patients had cardiac symptoms, all confirmed CaS cases had abnormal ECGs . Combining ECG findings with symptom review enhanced specificity and diagnostic accuracy, supporting ECG as a practical, noninvasive screening tool for dermatologists and other clinicians managing sarcoidosis.
