Diabetic Neuropathy (DN) is the presence of symptoms and signs of peripheral nerve dysfunction in people with diabetes. It has varied clinical manifestations. One such presentation of a baffled clinical DN is presented in the case that follows. History: A man-aged 57 years was presented with severe burning dysesthesia and pain between D4-12 region of the spinal cord. The pain distributed on to the right side of his chest and abdomen.
Additionally, the patient experienced allodynia. This, in turn, led the patient to experience decreased sleep, excessive daytime sleepiness, and fatigue. According to the patient, the symptoms started 6 months prior after he had pleural effusion for which a chest tube insertion was needed.
